Deepa Talpade has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, working in all aspects of business development and across therapeutic areas combining extensive business development and licensing (BD&L), business insight, strategic thinking, industry partnering, and enterprise-wide leadership experience.

Deepa joined Bayer in 2020 and is currently the global head of BD&L and Strategic Alliances for Oncology and Radiology. In this capacity, she and her team are responsible for identifying and executing innovative collaboration opportunities to further strengthen Bayer’s strategies in Oncology and Radiology, including digital approaches to improve and solve current and future healthcare challenges. The team leads Business Development Strategy in collaboration with relevant business units.

Prior to joining Bayer, Deepa was Head, Transactions Specialty and Primary Care with Merck (MSD) and has closed transactions across several therapeutic areas. Her early career included roles in commercial, translational and late-stage global development. Deepa joined Merck through the Schering-Plough merger and was with Organon prior to that.

Deepa has a PhD in Neuroscience from Emory University and an MBA from Rutgers University.
