Katherine Baeten

Head of Risk Assessment Division at UK Export Finance

Katherine Baeten is a financial services professional with 25+ years experience in the Banking and Insurance Industry.

Since June 2023 she is heading up the Risk Assessment Division at UK Export Finance engaged with new business origination. Prior to that she led the Portfolio Management Division, tasked with oversight on the post-issue transaction management, risk transfer to private insurance, as well as, Claims & Recoveries. She originally joined UK Export Finance in November 2018.

Prior to UKEF, she worked for ANZ Bank in London, heading up the analyst team in Resources, Energy & Infrastructure for Europe and the US. Previous experience includes managing the loan portfolio for the Lehman Brothers German Regulated Bankhaus (London) until 2012, including selling the Bank’s assets as part of the wind-down under the Administration process.

Katherine originally started her career at Atradius (NCM) in Antwerp (Belgium) as a risk underwriter for Multinational Organisations.
