Agata Mazurkiewicz, is an experienced competition law enforcer. After having worked for the Polish National Competition authority, she has come to the European Commission in 2006. She has dealt with the implementation of State aid rules in the context of industrial restructuring and in the banking sector during the financial crisis. Then for several years then she has done merger enforcement. After having served as policy assistant to Johannes Laitenberger and then to Olivier Guersent (former Directors General for Competition of the European Commission) in 2022 she became a head of unit, as of 2024 she has been managing one of the units enforcing the Foreign Subsidies Regulation.
