Laura Salvatori is a Principal and the Chief Legal, Risk and People Officer of Anson Funds, a hedge fund with offices in Toronto and Dallas. At Anson, Laura leads the firm’s legal, compliance, risk and human capital functions. She oversees all legal aspects of the funds’ operations, including fund formation and structuring, as well as regulatory matters across Canada and the United States. Laura also oversees the firm’s compliance program, enterprise risk management, and talent matters. Prior to joining Anson, Laura was General Counsel and SVP, HR at Match Marketing Group, a private equity-owned portfolio company. Before Match, Laura spent her career in financial services and investment banking law, most recently as Vice President, Assistant General Counsel at Goldman Sachs in New York, where she advised on corporate governance matters after beginning her tenure on the Investment Banking Legal team. Prior to Goldman Sachs, Laura was a capital markets attorney at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP in New York City. Laura began her legal career at Stikeman Elliott LLP in Toronto.
Laura is a member of the New York State bar and the Law Society of Ontario. She is also a member of the American Bar Association and the New York City Bar Association.
Laura received her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School and her Bachelor of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Private Investment Funds Committee and Women General Counsel of Canada, a Campaign Cabinet member of the Sunnybrook Hospital Foundation, and a board member of the Villa Charities Foundation.
