Hyperscale Campuses, Edge Computing, and Basement Servers: Call for Innovators to Speak at Data Center World 2027

Hyperscalers such as Google, Microsoft, Oracle, and others are driving mind-bending innovation in data center performance, efficiency, and emerging technology. But another flavor of truly creative and inspiring data center work is happening in a much less visible place.

It’s happening inside enterprise data centers, where savvy professionals build and tune the digital engines that keep our banks, hospitals, universities, and factories running.

In recent months, I’ve talked with a hospital leader whose team is investing tens of millions to improve the edge computing environments that support NICUs and emergency rooms. I’ve met with the data center leader at a major public university who figured out how to bring in AI-scale compute racks and the cutting-edge cooling systems they need, all inside the school’s existing campus footprint. Which is in a basement, of course.

We’re committed to bringing all that energy and innovation, from both enterprise data centers and hyperscalers, to our conference stages at Data Center World 2027.

We’ve just opened our annual Call for Proposals to speak at Data Center World 2027, and we encourage you to submit a proposal to speak. We also welcome proposals from across the data center ecosystem, including builders, designers, power companies, technology providers, policy pros, and community leaders.

Here’s the Call for Proposals link, and the deadline is Oct. 9. Submissions can be short and to the point, so we hope you’ll pitch yours.

Through our Call for Proposals, Data Center World’s program is built by the data center industry, to support the data center ecosystem. Proposals are evaluated by an Advisory Board of industry leaders. You’re solving some of the world’s hardest and most important problems, and we hope you’ll share those stories and successes with your peers and community at Data Center World 2027.

To guide speaking proposals, we have five conference track themes, which we completely revised for Data Center World 2027. Below are those tracks.

Data Center World 2027 Conference Tracks:

Operational Excellence & Uptime: Running and optimizing data centers

Innovation, AI, & Evolving Workloads: Exploring new ideas, including managing AI-driven workloads reshaping data center demand

Design, Construction & Supply Chain: Designing, building, retrofitting, and expanding data center capacity

Power, Cooling, & Sustainability: Procuring and managing the power and cooling data centers need to operate reliably and sustainably

Community Engagement & Public Policy: Understanding policy and community issues shaping whether and where data center projects happen

Thank you for your contribution to this community.
