Kevin Shannon is widely considered to be one of the premier investment sales brokers in the United States. As the Co-Head of U.S. Capital Markets for Newmark, along with Adam Spies, Doug Harmon and Rob Griffin, Kevin leads a team of 31 professionals focused on arranging capital markets transactions on behalf of domestic and offshore investors primarily in the Western United States. Kevin has been involved in over $86 billion of capital markets transactions since 2010 and has extensive experience in both fee simple and structured transactions in the office, industrial, life science, multifamily, land, and retail sectors.
Kevin joined Newmark in 2015 after ten years at CBRE, where he served as Vice Chairman and Managing Director for the West Coast Institutional Investment Group and led the Western United States Office vertical. Prior to CBRE, he served as a Senior Vice President with the Institutional Investment Group at Grubb & Ellis. He began his real estate career at Colliers Seeley, where he rose to Managing Director and established the company’s Investment Division in 1996.
Kevin attended the University of Southern California (USC), where he concentrated on Real Estate Finance and Development, and he remains actively involved as a frequent guest lecturer. He is a longtime board member of the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate and serves as a trustee of USC House of Victory NIL Collective. Kevin also chairs the IOPC Silver Flight of the Urban Land Institute and serves on the Policy Advisory Board of the Fisher Center for Real Estate & Urban Economics. In addition, he is Chair of the USC Caruso Catholic Center Board, Vice Chair of Catholic Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles, Primary Benefactor and Treasurer of the Missionary Sisters of the Eucharist, and a board member of the Ronnie Lott IMPACT Foundation.
