With over 18 years in Asset, Wealth, Portfolio, and Hedge Fund Management, Demir bridges the worlds of finance and academia as a pracademic. He holds a PhD from the Technical University of Darmstadt and was a visiting scholar at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. His research has been recognized with awards including the Bernstein Fabozzi / Jacobs Levy Outstanding Article Award by the Journal of Portfolio Management.

Currently, he is Managing Director & Head of Multi Asset Solutions (and Deputy Global Head of Portfolio Management) at Commerzbank, while also teaching as an Adjunct Professor of Finance at the Institute of Management Technology Dubai and the International University of Monaco.

He serves as a Member of the Independent Jury for the Bundesverband Alternative Investments e.V. (BAI) Science Award and contributes as an Advisory Board Member to several institutions and is a regular keynote speaker at international conferences.
