Jaime Martínez, with 30 years of experience in portfolio management, has been the Global Head of Asset Allocation at BBVA Asset Management since 2015, responsible for managing around 60BN€ of AuM. The team comprises more than 30 portfolio managers, organized into different units: the Institutional Asset Allocation Team, the Multi-asset Allocation Team, Investment Solutions, Wealth Solutions and DPM. Previously, he was CIO at Fonditel from 2009 to 2015, managing Telefonica's and other corporate pension schemes. From November 2004 – May 2009 he was Head of Asset Allocation at Santander Asset Management, having started his role in Santander Group in 2000 as Portfolio Manager for HNWI. Prior to this, Jaime developed his career in the asset management industry at companies like Invercaixa or Merrill Lynch. He has been a Professor at the Instituto de Empresa, a frequent lecturer at several business schools, and holds a Licenciado degree in Business and Economics from ICADE University in Madrid. He has been a CFA Institute Charterholder since 2001.
