Clare Terlouw is Managing Partner of LifeArc Ventures and leads LifeArc’s life sciences venture capital investment programme and Fund of Funds investment programme. The venture fund focuses on innovative life sciences companies from seed to Series B, with significant follow-on investment reserved for successful portfolio companies. The portfolio is centred on therapeutics and medical devices across a wide range of therapeutic areas and geographies. The Fund of Funds includes LifeArc’s numerous commitments as an investor in a range of globally leading life sciences funds.
LifeArc is a self-funded medical research organisation that turns promising science into patient impact, with a focus on rare diseases and drug-resistant infections.
Clare has more than 20 years’ experience working with innovative life sciences companies in both private and public markets. She was previously Head of Corporate Development at Syncona Investment Management Ltd, a FTSE 250 healthcare investment trust, and has more than 15 years of biotech and healthcare financing experience as a healthcare investment banker at Nomura and Numis Securities. Clare was a physiotherapist in Canada prior to moving into finance.
Clare is a board member of the UK Biotechnology Industry Association and a director of a number of venture-backed companies.
