Abhijit Bhatia is the Chief Operating Officer of Rakuten Medical and serves as Chairman of the Board for Medlight, Rakuten Medical Taiwan, and Rakuten Medical India. In these roles, Abhijit oversees global strategy and operations, as well as corporate and business development, finance, and investor relations.

With more than 25 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, Abhijit has led numerous strategic partnerships with both large and mid-sized pharmaceutical companies and has played a key role in securing over $700 million in funding for Rakuten Medical.

Prior to joining Rakuten Medical, Abhijit held scientific and leadership positions at Amgen, Celgene, and Abraxis BioScience. Abhijit holds an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Cleveland State University and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
