Sun Altbach is a global biopharmaceutical executive with nearly 30 years of experience building life sciences organizations at both iconic biotechs as well as innovative start-ups. Her career has been shaped by the conviction that breakthrough science only matters when it reaches the patients who need it.

Her work has encompassed diverse therapeutic areas including oncology, microbiome, fertility, rare disease, transplantation and multiple sclerosis. She’s been a founding CEO, headed portfolio management, led international operations, advised leading venture capital funds, and served in board and advisory roles at both for-profit and charitable organizations.

Today, Sun provides investment strategy, fractional C-suite, BD, and advisory services to a range of life sciences companies, bringing strategic perspective, deep industry relationships, and hands-on operational experience to founding teams at critical inflection points.

She also serves as an Advisory Board member at the Termeer Institute and a Biotechnology Advisory Board member at Franklin Cummings Tech, where she helps shape a biotech degree program serving a student body that is over 70% people of color.

Sun holds a BA from Smith College and an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
