President & CEO / CM&D

Scott Stay serves as President and Chief Executive Officer with CM&D, providing strategic leadership across real estate development, acquisitions, business development, and project and asset management. He is deeply focused on clients and on cultivating strong, long-term relationships with all project stakeholders, believing that trust and mutual respect are the foundation of successful outcomes. Scott has built extensive networks across owner-developers and the capital markets, including institutional investors, lenders, private equity firms, special servicers, and brings this perspective to every engagement CM&D undertakes.

Scott’s career spans government contracts, residential and commercial development, asset management, project management, and business consulting across the US and international markets. His project experience includes a wide range of asset types, including residential mid and high-rise developments, mixed-use master-planned communities, student housing, urban and destination hotels and resorts, commercial office and retail, high acuity health care and industrial campuses. This breadth of experience allows him to guide CM&D with a holistic understanding of development, capital, and execution, while helping clients navigate complexity with confidence. Scott studied architecture at the University of Arizona and economics at San Diego Mesa College, an academic foundation that continues to inform his balanced approach to design, finance, and project delivery.

Outside of work, Scott is driven by his family, his truly better-half wife and four amazing children that each day amaze him with their curiosity, passion and humor. He draws inspiration from honoring his father’s legacy as a community leader and business owner and his mother’s commitment to meaningful human connection. Scott enjoys traveling, staying active, reading, and sharing new adventures with his family. He embodies CM&D’s values by leading with stewardship, collaboration, and professionalism, internally with his team and externally with clients and partners, recognizing that the strength of these values together is central to the company’s success.
