Richard Austin is a seasoned professional with over 25 years tax experience within the financial services industry. Having previously worked at Euroclear UK & Ireland and RBC Dexia; Richard’s current role is the EMEA Portfolio Tax lead at BlackRock, having served there for the last 13 years. In his current role, he oversees portfolio level tax entitlement and compliance for all EMEA domiciled BLK Funds.

Prior to this, Richard’s experience was within the Operational Taxes space, with focus on the delivery of Operational Tax Services at a Central Securities Depositary, and then at a Custodian Bank.

He is an active participant in various tax industry group forums, whether that was via the AGC or ICTLG whilst at RBC Dexia, or through EFAMA and the IA in his current role at BlackRock.
