Mitch Stein is a founder and principal of Arena Private Wealth, an independent RIA built by former regional private bank advisors. Under his leadership, Arena has grown into a firm built on three integrated verticals — traditional wealth management, a capital markets group and an alternative investments platform anchored by its flagship fund and a fast-growing direct and co-investment business. Mitch has positioned Arena as an active participant rather than a passive allocator in private markets by leading or co-leading high-profile rounds, and as a firm that bridges the gap between private wealth and private markets. He is a frequent voice on the shift of ultra-high-net-worth families and multi-family offices into lead-investor roles traditionally reserved for venture capital and private equity. A history major at the University of Michigan, Mitch built Arena around the conviction that alternatives deserve the same diversified, disciplined treatment as any other asset class — and that independence from a large institution's conflicts of interest ultimately serves clients better.
