Kwaku Owusu-Achaw is Director for Africa at Shell Foundation, where he leads the Foundation's strategy, partnerships, and portfolio development across the continent. He oversees engagement with investors, corporates, governments, and development partners to accelerate scalable solutions in clean energy, sustainable mobility, climate resilience, and inclusive economic development.
Since joining Shell Foundation, Kwaku has played a leading role in building and scaling the Foundation's presence across Africa, helping identify, support, and grow pioneering enterprises that improve livelihoods while advancing the energy transition. He has been instrumental in developing initiatives across West Africa and has worked closely with entrepreneurs, investors, and ecosystem partners to mobilise capital and unlock growth opportunities for high-impact businesses.
Prior to his current role, Kwaku worked within Shell's global Trading business, holding several finance, commercial and strategic roles after joining as a graduate. He began his career in asset management with Fidelity International, providing him with a strong foundation in investment, portfolio management, and capital markets.
With more than 14 years of experience spanning investment, venture building, strategic partnerships, and sustainable development, Kwaku is passionate about bridging the gap between commercial capital and impact to drive Africa's next generation of growth.
