As Managing Director of Cardinal Strategy Group LLC, Carter Pennington works with multiple PE funds as an Independent Operating Parter, providing capital and hands-on management of underperforming portfolio companies and special situations. With over thirty-five years’ experience navigating companies through operational change and turnaround, he has served as CEO, CFO. CRO and Board Member in multinational companies, in diverse industries and in uncertain markets.

He previously was a Director in the Turnaround and Restructuring group of AlixPartners and held executive positions in multinational corporations, including Bristol-Myers Squibb, Revlon, Ernst & Young and President of a $350M subsidiary of GFT International. Mr. Pennington has participated in numerous speaking engagements, authored many articles on change management and corporate growth and holds an MBA from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University.
