Patrick Murphy32nd Undersecretary at US ArmySpeaker
Profile
The Honorable Patrick J. Murphy served as the 32nd Under Secretary of the Army and Chief Management Officer, and served as Acting Secretary of the Army. In that role, he led the management and operation of the Army — a Fortune 10-sized enterprise with 1.3 million personnel and a $148 billion budget. His tenure delivered $340 million in annual savings through the expanded Soldier for Life initiative, over $250 million generated through first-of-their-kind public-private partnerships, and the Army’s recruitment goals met for the first time in years.
An Iraq War veteran and Bronze Star recipient, Murphy made history as the first Iraq War veteran elected to the U.S. Congress, representing Pennsylvania’s 8th District. He is the Distinguished Chair of Innovation at West Point, a Wharton lecturer, an Emmy Award-winning media executive, and currently run a geopolitical unit helping companies prosper in a volatile world.
