You are required to bring your own laptop throughout the sessions. The laptop is used for the technical evaluations, reliability assessments and simulation exercises that run through the programme, including modelling grid performance under different scenarios. No other specialist equipment is required.

The course is highly practical and built around applied learning. Delegates analyse a real-world Middle East power system, conduct technical evaluations of sample systems, and design strategies to integrate renewable energy into an existing grid. Activities include individual exercises, group breakout sessions, a role play presenting reliability improvement plans to a ministry panel, and group simulations using software to model grid performance. Participants present findings and recommendations for feedback.
