Profile

Having started and run her own women in business network for more than 22 years, Yvonne’s skills as a business & personal mentor, placed her as an expert in the business and D&I arena where she has worked for over 35 years. Focusing on women entrepreneurs, women in the corporate workplace especially women on boards or the lack thereof, and even more so the Black Women's Paygap, and was recognized by the Queen with a CBE for that work.

Being a member of the Parker Review Committee, she is passionate about moving the dial with regards to minorities on boards. A game changer, campaigner, activist, she has experience in the Communications, Marketing and PR industry, advising corporates, public sector, educational establishments and government championing equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Her book 7 Traits of High Successful Women On Board led her to deliver over 150 workshops and speeches on this subjects at LinkedIn, Facebook Google, EY, Baker & McKenzie, Deloitte, and many US  firms, and even Oman and Maldives this consolidates her as a corporate and international speaker on, leadership, entrepreneurship and D&I.

Honoured by Queen Elizabeth II and received 2 doctorates for her work in the Entrepreneurship, Global Diversity and Equality arena, she was recently nominated for and accepted into the prestigious St George’s House, Leadership organization based at Windsor Castle, Windsor. In June 2019, she was invested with an Honorary Fellowship by Kings College University London.

Yvonne sits on several boards, and public appointment committees including her most recent appointment as Chair of the Radio Academy, representing the UK’s Radio Industry. Celebrating the 22nd anniversary of the first black women in business network set up in the UK, she also recently founded and led the 3rd WinTrade Week (Women In Trade) convention and Awards themed “Womenomics” hosting and celebrating over 600 women through a week of global business connections, networking, contracting and business development.

With two German bi-lingual grand-children, she feels she has to learn German. She is also learning to ice skate. Yvonne ran the London Marathon in 2013, & 2014 and was a member of the Economy Honours Committee for investitures for two terms. She feels it was an honour to see the humility that comes from those recognized by the Queen.
