With 20 years of professional experience, Michael has been a part of creating communities across a broad range of housing types and market segments. He oversees a team of designers to generate creative solutions to complex challenges. An experienced project manager, Michael provides leadership throughout the design department and is known for his ability to balance design excellence with practical execution while working closely with clients and consultants teams to deliver projects that are both market responsive and distinctive.
Michael is a licensed architect in multiple states including California, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Idaho, Oregon, Utah, New Mexico, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin. He has widespread experience with architectural design and visualization technologies to support project planning, concepting, design development, and graphic presentation. In addition to his Bachelor of Architecture degree, Michael also holds minors in both sustainable design and construction management, reflecting his longstanding interest in the intersection of design, performance, and constructability.
Michael’s influence and impact on home building extends to the industry at the local and national levels. He is helping shape and guide the next generation of architects through his advisory involvement with Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He is an active member of numerous committees and councils of the National Association of Home Builders and the Building Industry Association of Southern California. His expertise in the 55+ housing market led to his appointment as President of the BIASC’s SAGE 55+ Housing Council. He also serves as a board member of the national 55+ Housing Industry Council. Michael also uses his skill and platform to help design and advance housing opportunities for those without adequate shelter. He is an active committee member with HomeAid and has repeatedly lead the charitable CANstruction design effort for the Bassenian Lagoni office.
