Lora Gotcheva serves as an independent director of NYSE-listed SmartStop Self Storage. She brings over 25 years of experience in finance and real estate investment, most recently as Lead Americas Portfolio Manager at CPP Investments, where she led the Americas portfolio within a C$8 billion global REIT securities platform. During her tenure at CPP Investments, she also served as Managing Director, focusing on private real estate investments and joint venture formation, and was a member of the firm’s Global Infrastructure Investment Committee.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Gotcheva held roles in real estate equity research at Fidelity Investments, and in infrastructure private equity at Macquarie Bank, where she was part of the founding North American team. She began her career in investment banking at Morgan Stanley in New York.

Ms. Gotcheva holds a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College and an MBA from The Wharton School, where she was a Palmer Scholar.
