Wael Abdul Malak is a seasoned investment leader with over three decades of international experience driving mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and portfolio management across leading financial institutions and government entities. His career reflects a proven ability to design and execute investment strategies, close high-value transactions, and deliver sustained growth through disciplined governance, stakeholder engagement, and strategic foresight.

Currently serving as Chief Investment Officer at NG9 Holding; he is building the investment practice in the group, looking after some portfolio companies (strategic growth, performance management, operational efficiency), and leading strategic partnerships.

Before that, he was the Chief Investment Officer for Wusoom Holding, where he Wael lead the Group’s investment team overseeing M&A, joint ventures, and partnerships across multiple sectors, including agriculture, technology, hospitality, and mobility. He has been instrumental in developing the Group’s investment strategy, institutionalizing the investment process, and implementing digital systems for transaction management and performance reporting. He served on the board of several subsidiaries & under his leadership, the Group has successfully closed transactions exceeding USD 1.5 billion, positioning Wusoom as a strategic investment player across key growth industries.

Prior to that, Wael served as Head of Family Offices & Companies and Head of Investor Relations at the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), where he supported the implementation of Abu Dhabi’s economic diversification agenda and fostered partnerships between government entities, investors, and family offices. His earlier experience includes his role as Executive Director of Financial Advisory Services at Alpen Capital, where he led multiple M&A and debt advisory transactions totaling over USD 1.3 billion across the Middle East in sectors including healthcare, education, and industrials.

Wael has also held senior banking and corporate finance roles at Standard Chartered Bank, Mubadala GE Capital, and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, where he managed multi-billion-dollar portfolios, structured complex investment and financing solutions, and delivered double-digit growth across client segments.

A graduate of the American University of Beirut with Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Money and Banking, Business Administration, and Economics, Wael holds certifications including CFA Level I, Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and Certified Financial Manager (CFM). Fluent in English, Arabic, and French, he combines financial acumen with strategic insight and a collaborative leadership style that drives institutional excellence and sustainable growth.
